The Science of Nonsense
Imagination is the most powerful tool of our being. It has the ability to create worlds and destroy them, to turn things upside down and enhance them. What pure imagination is capable of exists within a consciousness beyond all reason, all comprehension.
When we imagine, we visualize, and when we visualize we begin to construct our feelings and ideas into images through shapes and form. We unify the ethereal – astral realms of energy and imagery into the physical realm of elements and action, this integration becomes Creation.
Our creations often mimic some form of practical function, but it’s when our imagination takes us into the realm of the whimsical and nonsensical that things start to get wild, where we can access new dimensions of creativity and cosmicivity and really have some fun!
All too often we bombard our thoughts and dominate our minds with the needs of everyday life. Convincing ourselves that this is reality and what needs to be done. With this in focus, it is easy for us to feel heavy by the physical modes around us. We can easily get upset when our children are getting wild and out of control with their energy. Often the most natural thing in this state is to try and calm them down and redirect their energy, to maintain a small sense of peace.
I want to remind you that this life is not as it seems. We have to remember that life here is being sustained by an ever exploding star… hello, what does that even mean? Yes, we do have responsibilities that require our attention to maintain, but this reality is so far beyond comprehension, our day to day “reality” is truly only determined by what we are telling ourselves.
Whimsical mimsical bumsical boop, there’s magic that lies at the end of your soup, you can only get there if you throw back your hair, and open your eyes to the wonders inside.
We as human beings have a need for the nonsensical. It may actually be the most important thing, in fact! It reminds us that we live in a world that is not fixed and ruled only by laws and reason, but actually created by the imagination. Everything we see was created from nonsense that someone made sense of. The very laws and rules only exist because someone made them up!
We need to remember this: our reality is only as limited as our ability to imagine it. If you can visualize it, you can create it. It is important for us not to forget. Just like Peter Pan and the lost boys, we must never forget that our true magic lies in the infinite world of the imagination. We need this imaginative creative spark of the infinite, the mystery of what’s actually possible apart of our life everyday. It is soo much more important that what has already been thought of, which if you haven’t noticed, we’re swimming up to our necks in.
Remember the spark inside you, the spontaneous wild spiral of infinity that connects you to the cosmos and never for one instance stops. Rekindle your flame and reactivate the cosmic creative connection. If it’s been a while you may need to throw yourself in a lake with no warning to remember what it feels like, ‘cause when you do, there is nothing more enlivening.
Bring nonsense back into your life, realize the true power it holds, where nothing and no-one controls, without limits or bounds, but all things profound just waiting for your marvelous magnificence.
So jump about, dance and wiggle in ways you have never seen, sing songs with words that have no meaning, play in a world of starlight and magical beings, and remember to invite your child and your inner child’s imagination out. The only way to go beyond the stresses and limitations of this world, is to imagine a new one!
Being a Highly Sensitive Indigo
I think I was pretty lucky growing up in a small town…my village only has 800 inhabitants and there is nature all around. There is a strong sense of community, everybody knows everyone else and there is no crime. When I went to school, our primary school had about 35 children in all four grades, and when I went back to do a reading of my book “The Fabulous Adventures of Joel the Squirrel” a couple of years ago I read in front of the whole school, which was still approximately only 35 kids.
Yes, I was a highly sensitive child way back then as well, and growing up in such a natural environment was a big plus for me. The thought or notion of high sensitivity never even occurred to me until I moved to Los Angeles to go to school (and I had lived in big cities before!) and, oh boy, I really hit me then!
That was when I had to learn to balance my energies. It was by finding information about the Indigos and learning what it meant to be empathic (meaning, you easily feel and even pick up the energies from people around you) and how to protect myself from absorbing the emotions, thoughts and frequencies of my environment that I was able to have a different relationship with the world around me.
One of the big things I had to learn was how to discern between my own energies and the energy of the people around me. So often I would feel an emotion, but it wasn’t even mine. So often I had a thought go through my head, and it was the thought of the person sitting next to me. Do you know how confusing it is to have all these thoughts and feelings go through your mind and body and they’re not even yours?!
If you have a child you might have noticed the following scenario: you’re at home, the child is in a great space. Then you take your child to the grocery store and within moments the mood of the child changes. All of a sudden your child is angry, or crying or throwing some kind of temper tantrum. Yes, it might be that your child is hungry or tired…but it might also be that your child picked up the energy of a person you passed at the store. Maybe the cashier had a fight with her boyfriend that morning and hadn’t had a moment to blow off all that steam. All the anger is still in her system, just waiting to be released.
When you paid for your groceries, your highly sensitive and empathic child (unknowingly) picked up the frustration of your cashier and is now “letting it all out”. Crying and throwing a tantrum is their way of releasing this energy. Sound familiar?
For us adults, this might be more subtle. We might be in a good space and suddenly our mood changes, and we don’t even know why. Since we have been taught to not throw tamper tantrums at the grocery store, we stuff down the feeling that something is off and go on with our day. If we don’t have techniques to clear this energy out of our fields, we might feel off for days.
That is why it is so important to learn how to discern between our own emotions and thoughts and those of other people.
It happens to me sometimes that as an empathic and highly sensitive person I pick up someone else’s emotions. I remember this one incident: I had had a really fabulous day, a lot of wonderful things were happening, I was in a space of magic and inspiration…and then talked to someone who was not in a good space at all! Throughout that whole conversation the person was telling me how bad life was, how bad the world was, and so on and so forth. Even though the conversation was very brief, I was in a horrible mood a couple of hours later. I felt my life was terrible and that the world was against me…until I realized that this weren’t even my thoughts!
What had happened was that I started feeling everything that person had told me. I had picked up the thought forms and emotions of that person just by having a brief conversation.
The moment I realized that what I was feeling wasn’t actually mine, I already started feeling better. Then I took a shower, visualizing that I was rinsing off the energy of the whole conversation….and my good mood came back!

Inner Work – Inner Healing
The Gift of the Goddess
Throughout my personal journey of inner healing there have been many profound experiences that have come through. One of them that stands out and holds special significance is the gift of the Goddess.
There is a spot located on my back, directly behind my heart on my left side, that I refer to as my “past life portal”. I have discovered it to be my body’s way of communicating with me about unresolved traumas. It’s not long after I achieve a completely relaxed space, where my body is feeling light and free as a result of clearing an old trauma, that the “portal” on my back starts to tingle again, indicating something else is now ready to look at. It’s like my body taking charge and telling me, “Hey, don’t get too comfortable, you’re not done yet.” The gift of the Goddess was one of these moments.
I starting feeling the all too familiar, painful tingling sensation in my back. Being that I had the proper time and space I immediately went into it. I lied down on a yoga mat on my back. I have a solid hand blown glass orb with a flat bottom that has become my little companion. Placing it directly underneath me right on the portal I relaxed down and pushed my weight into it.
With my eyes closed the pain portal opened into a vision of myself as a young man and a young woman. I was experiencing the perspective of both of them at the same time. When I tuned into the young man, my masculine, he was holding his hand up to the woman, my feminine, as if trying to block her from approaching. I could feel his pain that he associated to the feminine which is why he did not want her to approach.
She however, was very clever. She walked around behind him and sat down next to him, in a very gentle non-threatening way. She said, “It’s ok, I just want to talk.”
With this approach he let down his guard. She asked him why he was so hurt. He told her that every time he needed the feminine she was never there for him. She told him that she felt the exact same way, but the difference was that she never closed herself off to him. She explained that despite all of the ancient pain that she felt throughout lifetimes she could never release the love that she felt for him. She traced back through all of the different memories she had about being a lover, a daughter, a sister and, most importantly, a mother. It was in the memory of being the mother where the unconditional love remained. And it was from the power of this love where she found the courage to confront him.
With this he felt a shift in his own heart, he felt the pain begin to soften and the energy of forgiveness was born. He realized that she was right, she never closed herself off to him even though she had also felt hurt. It was ultimately he that shut her out. She shared with him that she wanted to be there for him in times where he really needed it, but she was unable to get through to him. She wanted to release him from the pain he was experiencing, but it was not hers to release.
He realized in that moment the true power of the Supreme Goddess, the Divine Mother. That no matter how much pain she experienced she would never let go of love. That at her essence all that truly remained was the ultimate gift of unconditional love. And within her resides the key to all healing.
No matter if you are a man or woman, born in a male or female body, within each of us resides the energy of both, the masculine and the feminine principles. They are at essence one. It is when we have the courage to face our pain and forgive ourselves and the other, as it is only an aspect of ourself, that we discover the true meaning of Oneness and unlock the infinite power and Divine healing energy of unconditional love.
Gratitude for the Sacred Feminine, the Divine Mother Goddess!

What we are listening to….
A few years ago, in 2012 to be exact, I was writing my first book. I was living in Pacific Palisades and working in Malibu.
Interestingly though, I’d be at work in Malibu and would have tons and tons of inspiration for my book flow through me. I’d rush home after work to start writing it all down only to find out that all the inspiration was gone. Back at work the following day, the inspiration came back, so I’d just stay at the local coffee shop around the corner from my office to write there.
(The land I was living on in Pacific Palisades was holding some really heavy energies that literally closed down my creativity. More about this in another issue.)
One day, something changed though. I was at home and all of a sudden got into a writing flow. I had discovered a new CD, and playing the music somehow put me into my creative flow. The moment the music stopped, the creative flow stopped with it. It was as if I was turning it on and off with the playing of the new CD. Strange….
Then my friend came by to have a cozy girls night of writing and studying (she was getting ready for her school finals). I (secretly) started playing the music and all of a sudden she said, “Wow, I am able to really focus since you started playing that song.” Interesting….
So, I did some research. The mantra I was playing was “Lumen De Lumine- Light of Light.” It is a powerful mantra that is known to get us into our creative flow by connecting us to the frequency of pure Creation. It brings in the energy of a thousand light beings. It is said to illuminate the mind and the heart, and wraps us into a blanket of pure love. No wonder I was feeling this shift in energy!
Today, we want to share this beautiful mantra with you. Here are a few CDs that we found and love. Purchase any of these and start playing the mantra in your own home. Click on any of the images below to be taken to the site!
