Akashic Insights – Feeling Weird??
Embracing our Indigo Gifts!
The other day I re-posted our AvaitriA “Traits of the Indigo Warrior” image on my personal IG page. One of the first comments I got was “So that is what is wrong with me.” I was shocked and surprised.
For me personally the traits of the Indigos are a really beautiful, even magical thing. How could someone feel that something was wrong with them?! How could they judge themselves for these incredible gifts?!
But then I started thinking how it used to be for me before I knew that I was an Indigo. Before I did all the healing work I’ve done over the years. Before I found the community that spoke my language…
I remembered how so many Indigos that I’ve worked with over the years, and that Jivananda and I we are still working with, feel.
I always had a deep sense of purpose, even as a little kid. That purpose did not involve dreaming about becoming a doctor or famous rock star when I’d grow up. No, I wanted to change the world. I wanted to do something that would contribute to creating more peace and understanding between people and nations. Now, no matter if you’re 6 or 26, telling someone that you feel your mission is to change the world often only gets you a “What are you talking about??” face when you were really hoping you’d receive a “That is amazing. Go for it!” cheer.
I also never agreed with the structures around me. Whether it was school or how the world worked in general, these things made no sense to me. I didn’t understand systems that suppressed people, that separated them, that made some feel inferior and others superior; I did not understand how I was supposed to learn and do things that brought me no joy. I just couldn’t conform to systems that wanted me to lead a life I didn’t believe in.
Since I was a child, the name Atlantis fascinated me. But there was no one to talk to about it, the people around me weren’t either interested or didn’t have too much information. So who was going to teach me about something that I so desperately wanted to learn more about?
I tried to find people who understood me within my profession. First it was at the dance studio and with people from my dance companies. Then in the acting community. I felt that if we had the same passion, we should have a connection, something to talk about. Unfortunately that was not the case. No matter how hard I tried to connect to the people around me, it wasn’t working. I just wasn’t interested in superficial conversations about the next best make-up tip or the newest jeans trend on the market…and they weren’t interested in my fascination with ancient wisdom and long lost continents.
The list goes on and on. I often felt misunderstood by my peers. People made fun of me for being different, for believing in what I believed in. All this started changing when I embarked on the path of the Indigo Warrior…
What you have to know is that us Indigos are old souls. We carry a lot of knowledge that challenges not only the systems of the world but also the people who are still fast asleep. Their judgment of us is in truth their fears of awakening from the false illusions that they have identified with. It is about feeling comfortable with what one knows and rejecting what would bring about change.
At the same time, these people are a mirror of the unhealed aspects within ourselves. As old souls, we have had many incarnations. The same way we hold wisdom and knowledge from these incarnations, we also hold the trauma. The experiences we’ve had over lifetimes have shaped our subconscious beliefs about ourselves and made us associate with an identity that is far from our true Self.
You might have lived in times where being a healer was dangerous. Where anyone who expressed these gifts was either being persecuted or shut down. You might have been one of the people who was forced to swear to never use your healing abilities again. Making this oath was at that time your only chance of not being killed by the powers at be.
Now it is lifetimes later and you so desire to step into your healing gifts, and yet it doesn’t seem to work. Why is that? Because you still carry the oath to not use your gifts. You still hold the fear that you’ll be killed if you do. The people around you who are critical and even judgmental of your dreams are merely reflecting back your unconscious patterns and fears of being a healer. By them shutting you down, they are – in a way – keeping you safe.
Can you see how the challenging relationships you have with other people are inviting you to look at these traumas and identities? To uncover the pain, find obligations that no longer serve you and transform them once and for all?
As we are healing these ancient traumas, different experiences will start showing up in our life. We no longer operate from the place of pain or fear, but start operating from the place of our healed Self, and eventually from love itself.
By doing the inner work I was finally able to actually start loving all those Indigo qualities that people had judged as weird. The more I healed subconscious patterns and pains, the more I felt myself stepping into my Indigo Warrior power. The more I released layers of false identity, the more I was able to embrace my Indigo qualities.
Now, I never felt that something was wrong with me. I merely felt different. I wanted to talk about subjects that fueled my passion and lit up my soul. I wanted to live a life that was authentic instead of what was appropriate or what was expected from me.
It took quite some time to get there, and I am still working on it every single day.
Us Indigos are old souls. There is a lot to unveil and heal. But a lot of beauty and empowerment to discover along the way as well as we are healing our Self and starting to embrace the truth of who we are.
That’s the way of the Indigo Warrior. We are called to transform our ancient wounds so that we can start stepping more and more into our full authenticity and become the spiritual leaders and healers that we were born to be!
Uncover the Mask
Are we operating face to face?
As a child we are constantly being told what to, when to do it and how.
We are directed by our parents to behave in a manner that fits their tolerance, acceptance and comfort levels. We are often told if we do not behave accordingly we will loose our privileges.
It’s a tricky thing being a parent and learning how to support your own needs as well as your child’s without shutting them down. However most of us grew up with rules that lead us to creating and using a mask.
When we are young, we operate from a place that is spontaneous. We celebrate, play and express ourselves freely and openly. We explore all sorts of wild ideas without limits until we bump up against opposition. If the opposition is expressed with compassion and understanding, our energy can be redirected into something else and continue to flow. It’s when we are not met with this patience but instead with anger and violent reactions that our spontaneous feeling becomes disrupted.
This spontaneity is our life connection, it is our link to Source and Creation. It fuels our creativity and our abundance. As we channel this energy as children we open ourselves to the cosmic connection without even thinking about it and bring it through us.
When we are reprimanded and disciplined harshly it shocks our system creating fear which forces us to close off from our spontaneous flow and connection. It is this fear that then directs us into the need to create protection. We begin to identify certain self expression with punishment.
As children we usually have a deep love for our parents and want to do what makes them happy. So we begin to alter our expression to fit their needs. Thus begins the creation of “the mask”.
When fear is created in our system triggered by our parents, the ones who gave us life, it initiates a feeling a survival. When our expression is met with punishment we respond by abandoning our nature to ensure we can protect our needs.
Our parents symbolize the source of our needs. They give us shelter, food, love and affection. When we feel our life necessities being threatened, withheld, limited and removed because of our actions, we teach ourselves to operate under a mask of expression in order to remain safe.
Instead of feeling supported to explore and express ourselves freely within our cosmic connection, we instead operate to protect. We begin to obey and act in accordance to what is “appropriate” based on our parents’ needs to control and stay safe, influenced by their own masks and fears of self expression. We abandon our spontaneous flow in order to secure our survival.
When we operate to please, we sacrifice our truth, as not to disrupt the balance. We begin to lie to ourselves about how we feel. We tell our parents what they want to hear. We may only share true honesty with one or two very close friends. We keep ourselves hidden behind a mask. We learn to repress our emotions and behave how we are supposed to behave.
Operating life from the mask results in some form of rebellion which is typically unconscious because we haven’t yet identified our true pain. We teach ourselves to live two different lives, in one we are polite, obedient and respectful, in the other we allow our repression to drive us into creating destructive behavior. We subconsciously want to free ourselves from the conditions we feel have been placed upon us. Not knowing how to find this freedom drives us to dwell on the pain of being separated from our spontaneous source self. We find reasons to blame others for our pain of separation, never truly knowing why we feel this pain.
In order to reveal our authentic self we must identify our masks. We must identify what feelings we have been suppressing, towards what and whom. It is essential to unbury these emotions and give them an outlet of constructive expression.
We need to heal the misplaced anger from being separate and understand that the original fear was only projected down from those who were also wounded by fear.
When we eliminate blame and accept that we are the ones responsible of our own experience we can begin to change our position and restore our lost connection. We can remove the mask and claim our true selves once again. We can find the courage to speak our truth and honor our unique design.
The time has come to remove the mask and reawaken the cosmic child and source channel you have always been, infinite, expanding, love.
Self Love, Self Care:
Sound, the healing transmission
Sound. It moves through you, awaking all aspects of your being. It moves, moves our emotions, our feelings, our mountains. It allows us to feel ourselves beyond what we think, it lets us out, sets us free into everything else.
It opens doorways, moves oceans of energy and can completely drown our sorrow.
Sound is the sacred thread of creation linking all things to one another. When we use sound to heal, we find these magical openings that appear, as if they have been there all along and all we have to do is walk through. Peace is sound, it is a frequency. When you enter into a state of peace you’re entering into a specific frequency that activates the unified collective of being. You enter into the field of Oneness where all things unify in frequency.
Sound is a primal instinct within here to connect us to everything that is. What are we waiting for?
So many of us for so many lifetimes have felt shut down, unable to express our true voice and connection the our own original sound. We have been intentionally programed to keep quiet.
The time has come to reawaken to our sacred gift, remember our sacred sound and birth forth the healers within us to clear the repressions from the past.
Every time we tone, sing, hum, and engage our vocal cords we physically vibrate our cellular being. When you intentionally focus your sound towards healing your cells begin to release, wake up and shake out old emotional memories, patterns, stagnation, trapped thoughts, feelings and stuck energy within you. It awakens the Now, the Present, our connection to the divine, it restores remembrance of who you really are as source energy, beyond this body, beyond form.
Frequency is all that remains within love. When we experience love, we experience its frequency emanating throughout our entire being. Love’s vibration is Divine source, when we connect with it, we find all that we have ever been and ever will be. The trick is, how can we maintain its frequency?
Awaken the heart!
Until we heal all of the wounds we carry within our heart we will never maintain complete resonance. Unity happens in the heart. How do we do that? Feel your wounds, Feel your joys. Feel the sorrow you hold and how is sounds when you give it voice. Divine resonance happens when we eliminate all aspects of separation. To awaken the heart we must heal every place we closed it, scratched it, cut, scraped and broke it. Sound is the very tool for the job.
When you sing into your heart, into your wounds you will find the feeling trapped within it. Every emotion, experience, memory and trauma is in there. Find it and sing, moan, hum and tone its way into liberation. The more we Heal the wounds within our heart’s center, the more we open the gateway into the portal of love.
The practice of sound healing is a profoundly powerful esoteric tool that goes beyond all limitations. There is no limit to what can be created and experienced, transformed and illuminated through sound. Each one of us is our own frequency amplifier, cosmic universal connector. We can channel infinite connections and energies, all just waiting to be awakened within you. The only thing necessary to access it is the willingness to open yourself up to it.
It is essential for each and everyone of us to awaken to this connection. We need to step outside barefoot on Mother Earth and break into our true vibration, open and channel the life-force energies of the cosmos through our being grounded into Gaia. This is the frequency beings we have come here to be. This is our role as cosmic channels, to bring summon through energy and information from the universe down into earth. It is our role as dreamers, visionaries, and creators to facilitate the evolution of all species and life as we know it on this planet. When we as a collective sets forth specific intentions and activate our universal connection through sound and visualization, there is truly nothing that is unattainable.
The journey begins with you. When you find the courage to open your voice and release your sound, and continue, don’t stop, find it, everyday, and keep finding it – it just may be the most powerful thing you ever do.
Recipe of the Week:
We love eggnog, and as we’ve learned with the vegan diet there is always a divine alternative to the seasonal classics. Here’s one of ours. Makes 2 servings.
For our eggnog we use cashew milk as our base and with most things, we like it homemade. So start by blending 2 cups of water with 1/2 cup of raw cashews. Blend until smooth. Now you’ve got your base.
- 2 cups cashew milk
- 1 cup of coconut yogurt or coconut meat (Young Thai Nut)
- 1 frozen banana
- 4 pitted Mejool dates
- 1 tbsp maca powder
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- pinch of clove
- pinch of turmeric
Place all Divine ingredients in blender and light it up!
Ancient Wisdom- The Time of the Season:
In last week’s issue we talked about how the most wonderful time of the year, the holiday season, can sometimes turn into the most stressful time of the year as we are making it to all the Christmas and post Hanukkah events, meeting our company’s end of the year workload and helping our kids with all the school tasks. The stress we are experiencing is very counter to how we want to feel.
The energy of this time invites us to become still and draw within, and yet we are running from one obligation to the next.
In ancient times people lived their life according to the energy of each season. In the Northern Hemisphere, December until middle of February was the time after the harvest had been brought in. The summer was the energy of outward expression and winter brought the energy of inner reflection.
The days were getting shorter, and the nights were getting longer. It was a time of rest and rejuvenation after the busy harvest. It was a time for families to come together. A time to draw within.
In the wisdom communities such as Avalon and ancient Egypt people spent this time in deep meditation and honing the inner work. They believed that starting the day of the Winter Solstice on December 21 the wheels of time stood still for 3 days. People would connect to that stillness. With that they were able to find the seeds (dreams, visions, inspirations) that had been hidden deep within their soul and that had become ready to be expressed with the coming season.
In our modern age, we have moved far away from these ancient traditions. Electricity is giving us enough light all day long so we don’t have to connect to the darkness of the season. We are pushing a busy work schedule. We have learned how to meet ours as well as everyone else’s demands, thereby completely ignoring how we feel – or want to feel. With that we have disconnected to the gift this time of the year holds for us.
But, we can change that!
As we are getting close to the Winter Solstice here in the Northern Hemisphere, I’d like to invite you to make some time between December 21 and 24 to become still.
Turn off the lamps in the house and light a candle. Sit in front of the candle in the darkness of the room and start breathing deeply. With each exhale let go of what is on your mind and with each inhale go deeper into your heart.
- What does your heart want to tell you?
- What does your heart need?
- What dreams, visions, aspirations are deep within you that are ready to be expressed?
- How can you move into the next year becoming deeply connected to your heart’s expression?
- How are you ready to voice what is in your heart?
Essential Oil of the Week:
Talking about de-stressing and becoming quiet, here is the perfect essential oil to help you with it: Stress Away!
I guess, the name says it all. Use this oil whenever you’re feeling challenged, overwhelmed, whenever you’re feeling inundated with life’s daily tasks and just need a moment to breathe.
Stress Away essential oil contains a unique blend of Lime, Vanilla, Copaiba, Cedarwood, and Ocotea.
Lime is a citrus oil – it is uplifting, purifying, renews the spirit and refreshes the mind. Lavender is calming, relaxing and balancing, and has been documented to improve mental activity and concentration. Cedarwood stimulates the limbic region of the brain (our center of emotions) as well as the pineal gland. Like Lavender it is calming and purifying.
Copaiba and Ocotea calms you in times of anxiety and stress, Copaiba balances your hormones and stimulates your sympathetic nervous system.
This blend is wonderful to create an environment of peace and tranquility. It helps to release stress and tension, promotes relaxation, lowers hypertension, improves mental response and restores your equilibrium.
You can diffuse the oil, or even carry in your purse or keep at work. Whenever you’re stressed, open the bottle and inhale the fragrance.

With the Winter Solstice right around the corner and the begin of the 12 Sacred Nights on December 24, it is the perfect time of the year to whip out those oracle cards.
It is the time where the veils between the worlds lift and therefore a great period for divination.
We will talk about the 12 Sacred Nights and how to use oracles cards in next Sunday’s issue. In the meantime we’d like to share with you a couple of oracle card decks that we absolutely love:
“The Enchanted Map” Oracle Cards by Colette Baron Reid
Created by Colette Baron-Reid, an internationally acclaimed Oracle expert, thought leader and number one best selling author of “The Map”. Her amazing oracle cards are bridging ancient spiritual traditions with the modern world.
Love, love this card deck. Not only does it give you amazingly beautiful images, but the guidebook holds great wisdom.
Everytime I work with this deck, the messages that I receive from the cards provide me a deeper understanding of the situation I am asking and provide great guidance.
Deck includes 54 beautifully illustrated cards and a guidebook with instructions on what questions to ask and how to interpret the messages in your readings.
“Messages from the Angles” by Doreen Virtue
This one was actually one of my first card decks. It taught me how to read oracle cards and interpret the messages that I was receiving.
The images are super adorable. The messages feel light and potent at the same time.

This week’s hook up:
Looking for some amazing and super clean haircare? We LOVE this product!!!
Honestly, there are so many haircare products out there that make your hair look good, but are loaded with toxic chemicals. As you might already know, the skin is the biggest organ of the body. Whatever you put on your skin, will seep through and go right into your body. Which means that if you’re putting chemicals into your hair, they won’t just stay there, but go right through your scalp.
When dissecting corpses (not to be too graphic here since we are talking about haircare), doctors have found huge amounts of toxins stored between the scalp and the skull, most likely from products that people put on their hair during their lifetime. These toxins affect the hair follicles causing hair loss and dandruff. Detoxing your scalp will not only make your body healthier, but your hair shinier and thicker.
So, let’s get your hair shiny, and your body all healthy!
Morrocco Method products are all raw, vegan, paleo, gluten free and color safe shampoos. They’re cruelty-free, wildcrafted, plant-based and handcrafted in small batches. Based on the principles of the 5 Elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Ether), their scents come from pure essential oils.
If you haven’t yet, check them out by clicking on the image below. It is the healthiest hair care we have found so far!!
